Thursday October 2, 2008

Yesterday, I went to visit Dr. Hillam (my general practitioner) to get my blood pressure medication renewed and faxed to Medco. He also took a blood sample for some tests to check my kidney function. He said my last blood test had a total cholesterol of 150. He was impressed with that and said it was better than his (he's young)! He told me I should go to a physical therapist to get some muscle strength back. But I said no. So he said I should exercise in my chair doing leg lifts and doing weight-lifting with light weights. And Pat said that I should start using my walker to "take a spin" around the circle in the neighborhood. I think that all this talk about exercise makes me tired. I said I would start going down to get my own breakfast. (I've not done that since before I got pneumonia in June.) This morning, however, my head felt funny, so Pat brought up my pills and breakfast for me again. Maybe tomorrow.

Today, I filled out an application for an absentee ballot and mailed it off to the county clerk. Pat had checked online to see if I was actually registered to vote, and I was. She also found the absentee ballot application online and printed it off for me. It's so nice to have things so easy because of the internet!
